It?s Monday.? Welcome back to work.? Before the boss starts looking over your shoulder, here?s a chance to get caught up on one of the biggest scandals in NFL history, which the league wisely slipped through the late Friday afternoon five hole.

Right after you turned off your computer and headed home for a weekend of not surfing the Internet on your own time.

You?re likely feeling a little inadequate right now, because you don?t know the details as well as you?d like.? That?s why we?re going to take you on a quick tour of the 29 bounty-related stories that have been posted here since Friday.

Yep, while you weren?t working, we were.

Then again, this really ain?t work.

It all started with a bolt-from-the-blue press release.? The league has concluded that the Saints ran from 2009 through 2011 a system of payments to defensive players for, among other things, inflicting injury on opponents.

Coach Sean Payton knew about the program, and defensive coordinator Gregg Williams administered it.

Bounties fueled the Saints? 2009 playoff run. The Vikings, who lost to the Saints in the 2009 NFC championship after linebacker Jonathan Vilma offered $10,000 to whoever knocks Brett Favre out of the game, aren?t talking, but plenty of you believe the news taints the Saints? Super Bowl win.

Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner?s final game included being blown up by former Saints defensive end Bobby McCray a week before the Vikings-Saints playoff.? Warner nevertheless thinks bounties have been part of the NFL for a long time.

The NFL insists Saints owner Tom Benson didn?t know about the bounties.? In what likely will be regarded in time as one of the great sports-related understatements, Benson issued a statement calling the findings ?troubling.?

The league says it?s not aware of bounties in any other cities, and former Redskins coach Joe Gibbs says he didn?t know about any of it in D.C.? This means either that the investigators didn?t ask Williams if he used bounties before his time with the Saints, or that they asked him and he denied it.? Regardless, they?ll be asking Williams about it on Monday.

Speaking of denials, the investigation regarding the Saints nearly died on the vine because everyone involved said it didn?t happen.? Now that the league has found evidence that the bounty program did indeed exist, those who were dishonest to the investigators should face enhanced penalties.

Saints G.M. Mickey Loomis also apparently lied to owner Tom Benson, and Loomis definitely failed to put the practice to an end once Loomis was told to do so by Benson.? The fact that Loomis reportedly won?t be fired for such a flagrant example of insubordination invites speculation that Loomis is simply covering for Benson.

Benson?s own punishment likely will consist of a hefty fine imposed on his team and a forfeiture of draft picks, even though the team traded in 2011 its first-round pick in 2012.? (If the NFL really wants to punish the Saints, the league should take away its franchise tag.)

Lengthy suspensions are expected for Williams, Loomis, and coach Sean Payton, along with multiple players.? The expected absence of key members of the organization as of Week One helps explain the team?s decision to volunteer for the Hall of Fame game, which will give them two extra weeks and one extra preseason game to get ready for the inevitable absence of people like Payton.

A decision on punishment will be made by the March 25 league meetings.? The NFLPA has vowed to review the NFL?s report, but the union has taken no position on the situation, yet.

Some wonder whether a few extra dollars makes a difference to a highly-compensated pro football player.? Apparently, it does.? Which makes cash money the NFL?s equivalent of a helmet sticker.

Of course, helmet stickers don?t constitute taxable income.? Cash money does, and the IRS could start poking around.

Other law-enforcement agencies could get involved as the situation unfolds.? This story is far closer to the beginning than the end, and we?ll be following it every step of the way.

Better to buy high mileage car from private owner or dealership?
My first thought would be from private owner since they know the car well and you can screen the cars before you take the time to go out and test drive or inspect them. Most of the dealers offer high mileage cars at ?pre auction? or ?pre inspection? so you?re pretty much on your own and have to spend the time to go out and see the car to find anything out about it. Some of the smaller dealers do have info on the vehicles ? - not sure if they are trustworthy though. we?re looking for a car for our 18yr old. . another thing I think a private owner ? you could get ?more car? for the same money a dealer?s asking? Want to hear other people?s thoughts on this and especially if you?ve bought a high mileage car from either private or dealer.

I found a great cavalier that?s local and it drove and checked out super ? my main issue now is trying to convince my husband to go ahead and get our daughter her own car again (long story short back in July she totalled her last vehicle and has been driving ours ? mostly the large mini van for school and work).
She is 18 and is in her last year at a technical school for special needs teaching. She works at Panera Bread ? it was her first and only job since she was 16. That first car we didn?t have her pay us back. This time around, she is going to be paying us back check by check ? a % of what she makes will go towards reimbursing the car and the insurance. We are NOT getting a loan out or cosigning a loan for her. I?m talking cars

with a dealer it will cost more the only difference would be if they offerd some sort of warrenty if they dont i wouldnt go to one butyo cant trust private owners to tell you eveything about the car either for your first car i sugest a private owner and to chec the car out with somebody whos like a mechanic or just knows a lot about cars so your not gonna buy a car that will break down the next day

just recently I have been to multiple dealerships to get a new car with my trade in. Every dealer talks about they can get my same exact trade-in vehicle for really cheap (way under blue book) and they say ?why would i give you blue book if i can get your car cheaper at an auction?. SO WHY DON?T THEY!!

Is that auction price the real price? Or do they have to pay shipping cost and other things? even though I know they get their cars cheaper than that. What would be the total cost of their auction car after all costs? $ 14k = $ ??k

It?s not the price ?per say? that you pay at an auction. It?s the quality of the vehicle. The dealers you spoke to are correct, many vehicles sell well below blue book at auction. However, vehicles that have been properly maintained, by a single owner, and have no mechanical or cosmetic defects will get blue book value OR BETTER at auction. Auction is largely used cars that have had several owners, and almost ALWAYS require mechanical or cosmetic work. So, yes he might be able to get the same year, make, model as your car, but NOT the same MILEAGE, APPEARANCE, PERFORMANCE. Bottom line, dealers are all about profit$ . You might be better off trying to sell your car privately. Good Luck.

NEW YORK (AP) ? Sometimes the so-so performances stand out more than the great ones.

The surging New York Rangers have been running away with the Eastern Conference and now they are picking up points even when they aren't playing up to the high standard they have set.

"We're playing our third game in two-and-a-half days, and they're not all going to be pretty," Rangers coach John Tortorella said after the Rangers outlasted the Boston Bruins 4-3 on Sunday.

Derek Stepan and Marian Gaborik both scored tiebreaking goals in the third period, and the Rangers held on after losing in overtime at Tampa Bay on Friday. New York squandered two-goal leads in both games, but escaped with three of four points.

The Rangers (42-15-7) topped Boston for the fifth straight time, dating to last season, and opened a 12-point lead over the defending Stanley Cup champions. New York's closest pursuer is Atlantic Division-rival Pittsburgh, which is 10 points behind.

Henrik Lundqvist made 30 saves and bounced back from the Lightning loss. Anton Stralman and Carl Hagelin also scored for the Rangers, who have won nine of 13 (9-2-2). New York has 91 points ? the most in the NHL ? and has gotten there in fewer games than any team in close contention for the Presidents' Trophy.

"Maybe our last two games we weren't perfect, but we still managed to get points," Lundqvist said. That's a strength. That's what it comes down to ? just find ways to win games, or at least get points. We didn't play our best ... but we stayed in the game."

Gaborik gave the Rangers a 3-2 lead 3:14 into the third with his 32nd goal, but David Krejci tied it for Boston at 11:42. The Bruins barely had time to celebrate before Stepan ripped a drive from the left circle that sailed past screened goalie Tim Thomas and under the crossbar 39 seconds later.

"Their guy, maybe (Ruslan) Fedotenko, crossed at the exact perfect time," Thomas said. "He was going to release it, then the cross. I felt it hit my shoulder. I might have picked it up when it was three feet from my shoulder."

Gaborik put the Rangers in front after Boston defenseman Dennis Seidenberg tried to get the puck out of danger behind the net. Seidenberg banked the puck off the end boards, but it caromed right to Gaborik, who made a quick shift from forward to backhand and scored.

The Rangers were held to 17 shots, but got the best of Thomas, who lost for the second straight day. Thomas came on in relief Saturday against the New York Islanders after starter Tuukka Rask was injured. Boston was beaten for the seventh time in 11 games (4-6-1).

Benoit Pouliot and Jordan Caron had the other goals for Boston.

"We played a pretty good game," Thomas said. "Right now, what can go wrong, will. It's one of those modes."

New York lost its second straight 2-0 lead largely because of sloppy play by its defensemen. Giveaways by Stralman and Dan Girardi lead directly to Boston's first two goals.

With about 8 minutes gone in the first period, Stralman ? who a few minutes earlier doubled the Rangers' lead ? tried to clear the puck out of his zone but instead had it picked off. Caron got the puck to Pouliot, who fired in a drive at 7:57.

Girardi got caught trying to move the puck up ice while the Bruins were in the midst of a line change. His attempt to get the puck out of his end was intercepted by Caron, who then ripped a drive by Lundqvist to tie it 1:40 into the second.

"That's the league we play in. You make a bad play, it's going to go into the back of your net," Girardi said.

Until then it was all Rangers, at least on the scoreboard.

Stralman gave them a 1-0 lead when he kept the puck in at the left point, curled to the top of the circle and ripped a shot that found its way inside the left post at 5:05.

Just 1:10 later, the Rangers took advantage of the shaky Thomas again. Girardi fired the puck from his own end, and a deflection by Brad Richards negated a potential icing call.

It didn't matter as the speedy Hagelin beat the Bruins up ice, and carried the puck behind the net. He flung the puck in front, and as teammate Brandon Dubinsky crashed the crease, the puck hit Boston defenseman Greg Zanon and bounced past Thomas. The goal was originally credited to Dubinsky.

Bruins coach Claude Julien then used his timeout, and his team responded. Pouliot cut the deficit in half just 1:39 later, and Boston gradually took over.

"Other than the result, we have a lot to be happy about," Bruins forward Milan Lucic said. "We played a real good game after we called that timeout. We had everyone going. It was the best effort that we've had in a long time. We need to keep our heads high and remember the things here that gave the scoring chances and the momentum."

The Bruins held New York to eight shots in the first period and 11 through 40 minutes. Boston fired 24 pucks at Lundqvist in the first two periods and held a big edge in possession time.

"They had the puck for most of the second period," Stepan said. "In the third we did a great job of defending, and we held onto pucks a little more."

NOTES: The final 2:53 of the first period was tacked onto the start of the second after a shot by Boston's Brian Rolston broke a pane of glass behind the New York net. ... Rangers captain Ryan Callahan missed his third straight game because of a bruised foot. ... The Rangers have won nine of 11 against Boston. ... Bruins LW Lane MacDermid, in his NHL debut, fought Mike Rupp 2:30 into the game. There were three fights in the first period.
