Billy Dee Williams, who played Lando Calrissian in two of the original "Star Wars" films, will guest-star as himself in the Season 4 holiday episode of "Modern Family."This news, first reported by EW, adds yet another guest actor to an already impressive roster visiting "Modern Family" in the show's fourth season. In addition to returning stints from Shelley Long (as Jay's ex-wife) and Nathan Lane (as Cam and Mitchell's friend Pepper), the sitcom will welcome Matthew Broderick and Paul Scheer to upcoming episodes.
How does someone like Billy Dee Williams figure into the show? Williams will guest-star in an episode titled "New Year's Eve" and will cross paths with the extended family while they are on vacation in Palm Springs. Jay (Ed O'Neill) will be the point of contact with the former Lando when he meets the actor during a card game.
This marks a second high-profile guest-starring role for the "Star Wars" actor in the current television season. Previously, he played the role of Leroy Jethro Moore on "NCIS," the man after whom Gibbs (Mark Harmon) was named.
